Richard Brown

Mr. Brown, brings over 30 years of experience in consulting, executive management, and innovative, “out-of-the-box” solutions to complex problems within the Defense Department, Defense Industry and commercial entities domestically and internationally. The basis for much of Mr. Brown’s success comes from his background in leadership, management, strategic planning, engineering and foreign country experience during his career as a US Navy Carrier based Fighter Pilot and Founder and President of Whitney, Bradley & Brown, Inc., an award winning consulting firm providing time critical assessments and solutions to pressing developmental, acquisition and deployment requirements within the corporate structure and customer environment.

Mr. Brown has demonstrated a unique ability to capture the “Big Picture”, organize and lead a team to effect timely, cost effective solutions to complex tasks, domestic and foreign as demonstrated by his innovative, energetic integration of the F-14 into the Iranian Air Force; managing the development of a master jet fighter base, with full maintenance and training capability, asset security, stabilized power structure, an F-14 Training Squadron while facilitating the deployment of the first fully-capable Iranian F-14 squadron to Shiraz AFB; all in 14 months. Mr. Brown has provided penetrating objective insights and common sense solutions to some of the most complex and sensitive issues at the highest levels in both the government and private business sectors developing innovative strategies and bringing together diverse participants and capabilities to work together in a synergistic and effective manner that resulted in successful completion of major tasking.

Mr. Brown assembled a team of top-level retired and experienced military and civilian personnel and successfully led WBB into rapidly growing multi-million dollar a year technical consulting business which he sold to the employees through an ESOP. Mr. Brown, during a career in the United States Navy, served as a combat fighter pilot in Vietnam, an Engineering Test Pilot, Commander F-14 Program Iran, Director F-14 Foreign Military Sales and Deputy F-14 Program Manager. He was also employed as a Senior Applications Engineer at Sundstrand Aviation managing the development of the L-1011 Leading Edge Flaps and Slats System, the DC-10 Mach Trim Actuation System, and the F-14A Wing Sweep System.

Mr. Brown was President of the National Aviation Club, founder and past President of the Crusader Association, Director and Executive Committee member of the National Aeronautic Association, Director of National Capital Council of the Navy League, and a member of the Society of Experimental Test Pilots, Navy Leagues, Naval Academy Alumni Association, Association of Naval Aviation, Tail Hook Association, and many other community and social organizations. Mr. Brown has coached AAU Basketball in the National Championships, and Club Baseball and Basketball, was the Director of Club Basketball Officials, Director of Church Youth Group, and High School Basketball Official, VHSL.

Mr. Brown holds a Bachelor of Science from the U. S. Naval Academy, and Masters Degree equivalent as a graduate Engineering Test Pilot from the U. S. Naval Test Pilot School, and a Graduate of the Defense Systems Management College.
